Drift anchor/socks are essential for drift control in windy conditions allowing for better management of conditions. They work like a parachute in the water slowing the boats rate of drift in windy conditions. There are many times, especially when winds are 12-20 mph where two drift socks (one on stern and one on bow) can be used.
